RPA is not dead. It just grew up.

April 22, 2026 · 2 min read

RPA had a rough five years. Pre-LLM, it was brittle — every UI change broke the bot, and the maintenance bill ate the savings.

What changed: LLMs make RPA self-healing. The bot can read the page, understand intent, and adapt when the form field moves. Combined with a good orchestrator, it becomes the cheapest way to automate a back-office workflow.

The sweet spot: any process where someone in your operations team logs into three systems, copies data between them, and then types a summary into a fourth. That is a $40,000-a-year FTE replaced by $4,000 a year in automation.
